Reflections are A Sometimes Thing

Reflections are like this, you sometimes can't see the real thing and you rely on the reflection for your guide.

I was back in New York recently and this reflection of a view through buildings to the Hudson river was the only view as our own building jutted out and we couldn't see past to the Hudson. But I knew this view existed and I loved this Dali-esque version of reality. It was quirky and shimmering.

Sometimes we are side-tracked by an illusion or reflection of a situation. But I believe this isn't a bad diversion. Sometimes, in order to not see the real thing as it might be too painful, we create a positive view. The beauty of creating positive illusions is that sometimes they do become our reality.

This reflection was in Boston on a Trolley ride, in 2009. It is my reminder that the day was sunny and the sky was blue. My remembrance of the day Is a happy one.
So here's to happy reflections and shimmering hopes.

Rainy Start

Well, here I am, my first blog ever...... I wonder if this is something I could continue with or not...

It all started because I wanted to show my niece Kelly the exterior of the Wyman House where I will be staying in when I get to Manhattan. Its build date is 1886 and its two houses now being used as rental holiday apartments. We have the Top left suite with the red roof and turrets over the windows and the floor below which has a balcony over looking Riverside park and the Hudson River (its in Upper West side NY). How cute it is and if you go to http://www.wymanhouse.com/penthouse_suite_5w.htm

this is the interior of the apartment, it also has a full bathroom a kitchenette and a spiral staircase up to the turret window bedroom.

Well, this will do as a start...... Barb
